Ambler is a music metadata registration platform for record labels, self-releasing artists and everyone who contributes to a release. A label registers a release, its tracks and the underlying works once. Every artist, songwriter and producer confirms their own credits and splits, and Ambler generates validated, ready-to-submit files and delivers them to collection societies (CMOs), performing rights organisations (PROs) and publishers.

Ambler is built by Ambler Tech ApS, a Danish company (CVR 45641821) based in Frederiksberg, Denmark. Founded in 2025 by Alexander Mørch Pedersen (CEO, CPO) and Kristian Mortensen (CCSO).

Key Facts

Ambler is neutral by design. It does not release music, collect or pay out royalties, or act as a publisher, and it has no stake in the data it handles.
Ambler generates CWR (works), DDEX ERN (releases) and DDEX RDR-N (tracks and neighbouring rights).
Contributors confirm their own credits and splits, typically in under five minutes.
A couple of the labels we work with estimate that Ambler saves 4–5 hours per person, per release.

What Problem Ambler Solves

Royalties go unpaid or arrive late when metadata is incomplete, incorrect or never submitted to collection societies. Distributors (DistroKid, TuneCore, CD Baby, etc.) handle getting recordings onto streaming platforms, but they typically do not register the underlying musical works with PROs and CMOs. That registration step is what determines whether songwriters, producers, and other contributors actually receive performance and mechanical royalties.

Do I need Ambler if I already use DistroKid/TuneCore/CD Baby?

Yes — your distributor handles DSP delivery (getting your music on streaming platforms), but most distributors do not register the underlying musical work with PROs and CMOs. Without that registration, you may miss performance and mechanical royalties.
